Contained Nature Series
Organic Impermanence
“Change is a fact of life that we have to come to terms with on a daily basis.
It can be a beautiful reminder of what it means to exist.”

Contained Nature focuses on the idea of impermanence. I draw inspiration from the fluid qualities of nature, the balance of order and chaos, and the relationship between the natural world and humans.
As a whole, the series serves as a visual appreciation of the fleeting beauty of life. And how these momentary glimpses cannot be recreated but instead repeated in unique versions. Even though natural occurrences and organic life are original and distinct, my work replicates and embodies the perfect harmony of a life cycle.
PROCESS
The brevity of working with ink allows me to create washes and strokes quickly on a surface. This intuitive process helps remove the rational aspect of thinking and paint in the moment. My process becomes meditative, and by not overthinking my actions, I slip into a state of tranquil flow.

Just like organic abstractions, my works hold a sense of unpredictableness. I work in layers to build delicate compositions with textures created by blending different color inks to evoke depth and abstraction. The wave-like and marbling patterns allude to the natural ebb and flow of order and chaos. The colors I use—vibrant blues, deep greens, earthy reds, and dashes of gold—create an ethereal atmosphere. Though patterns are understood, they still carry a sense of mystery of the natural world.
